Oak Internal Doors in Cardiff
We make and fit Oak Internal Doors throughout Cardiff — measured properly, built from timber chosen for the exposure, and adjusted once they are in.
1 of the 6 towns we cover in Cardiff are coastal, where Accoya or dense hardwood and marine-grade stainless ironmongery are the sensible specification.
Most door problems are not the door. They are an opening that has moved, a cill that sheds water backwards, or a finish that was never cured properly. A survey is what separates a door that works from one you fight with.
Price and lead time in Cardiff

Common questions
Solid oak or oak veneered?
Veneered on an engineered core is more stable and usually the better choice for internal use. Solid oak is heavier, moves more, and costs considerably more.
What door suits a stone cottage?
A ledged, braced and boarded door with long strap hinges. Openings are usually low and rarely square, so the door is made to the opening as found.
Can you make non-standard shapes?
Arched heads, splayed jambs, tapered cills and out-of-square openings are routine. Old buildings are rarely square and we build to the opening as found.
How do I look after the finish?
Wash the door twice a year with mild soapy water and check the bottom rail and cill for standing water. Recoating intervals depend on exposure and aspect — south and west elevations go first.
What if my opening is not square?
Very few are. The survey records the actual dimensions at several heights and the door is made to suit, with the frame packed and scribed on fitting.
Is there a guarantee?
Ten years on the joinery and the factory finish, with the survey record kept so any claim is straightforward to deal with.
