Bespoke Timber Doors

One-off doors drawn from scratch — non-standard sizes, arches and glazing.

The difference between a door that lasts eight years and one that lasts thirty is mostly invisible from the street: the joint type, whether the stiles are engineered, whether the bottom rail is sealed, and how the water gets away.

What you get

  • A measured survey before anything is cut, recording the opening at several heights because very few are square.
  • Timber specified for the site — engineered redwood under paint, dense hardwood where strength matters, oak where the grain is the point, Accoya where exposure is severe.
  • A factory finish sprayed on all six faces including top and bottom edges, then cured before the door leaves the workshop.
  • Fitting and first-season adjustment, because timber settles and buildings move.
  • A ten-year guarantee on the joinery and the finish.

Guide price and lead time

Bespoke Timber Doors start at £2,200 per door supplied and fitted, with VAT included. Typical lead time is 9–12 weeks from survey to fitting. Size, timber, glazing and ironmongery all move the number — use the indicative price tool for a range in about a minute, or send sizes for something closer.

Common questions

How does a bespoke door start?

With the opening and a conversation. We draw the door, agree the mouldings and glazing, and only then cut timber.

What if my opening is not square?

Very few are. The survey records the actual dimensions at several heights and the door is made to suit, with the frame packed and scribed on fitting.

Is there a guarantee?

Ten years on the joinery and the factory finish, with the survey record kept so any claim is straightforward to deal with.

Do you take a deposit?

A deposit is taken when the order is placed and the balance on completion. Nothing is payable before the survey and the written quotation.

What ironmongery do you supply?

Everything from period butt hinges and rim locks to modern multipoint systems, in finishes from polished brass to satin stainless. Coastal sites get marine-grade stainless as standard.

Can you fit a cat flap or letter plate?

Both, and it is better done in the workshop where the aperture can be sealed properly rather than cut on site.

How do you handle out-of-hours or emergency repairs?

Making a door secure and weathertight is usually possible quickly; the permanent repair follows once parts are available.
