The difference between a door that lasts eight years and one that lasts thirty is mostly invisible from the street: the joint type, whether the stiles are engineered, whether the bottom rail is sealed, and how the water gets away.

Internal Timber Doors start at £420 per door supplied and fitted, with VAT included. Typical lead time is 3–5 weeks from survey to fitting. Size, timber, glazing and ironmongery all move the number — use the indicative price tool for a range in about a minute, or send sizes for something closer.
Common questions
Do internal doors need to be the same throughout?
Consistency reads well, but the practical requirement is consistent height and ironmongery. Mixing styles between floors is common in older houses and looks intentional.
How secure is a timber door?
A well-built timber door with a multipoint lock and reinforced keeps is at least as secure as a composite equivalent. The lock and the frame fixings matter more than the leaf material.
Do I need building regulations approval?
Replacing a door like-for-like usually does not need approval, but the new door must meet current thermal and safety-glazing standards. We specify to comply as standard.
Can you make non-standard shapes?
Arched heads, splayed jambs, tapered cills and out-of-square openings are routine. Old buildings are rarely square and we build to the opening as found.
How do I look after the finish?
Wash the door twice a year with mild soapy water and check the bottom rail and cill for standing water. Recoating intervals depend on exposure and aspect — south and west elevations go first.
What if my opening is not square?
Very few are. The survey records the actual dimensions at several heights and the door is made to suit, with the frame packed and scribed on fitting.
Is there a guarantee?
Ten years on the joinery and the factory finish, with the survey record kept so any claim is straightforward to deal with.
